Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle only high enough to access the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge solenoid valve through the wheelhouse. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the left wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement in Body Front End.

  3. Object Number: 1352026  Size: SH
  4. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service in order to disconnect the following from the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve (3):
  5. • The EVAP purge hose/pipe
    • The EVAP purge hose (1)

  6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve.

  7. Object Number: 1352022  Size: SH
  8. Remove the bolt securing EVAP canister purge solenoid valve to the engine.
  9. Remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve from the engine.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1352022  Size: SH
  1. Position the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve to the engine.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the bolt securing EVAP canister purge solenoid valve to the engine.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge solenoid valve bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Connect the electrical connector to the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve.

  6. Object Number: 1352026  Size: SH
  7. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service in order to connect the following to the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve (3):
  8. • The EVAP purge hose/pipe
    • The EVAP purge hose (1)
  9. Install the left wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement in Body Front End.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
