Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 2.8L or Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.5L.
  2. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 2.8L or Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 3.5L.
  3. Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement .
  4. Disconnect the oil pressure sensor harness clip from the pump body.
  5. Install a drain pan under the vehicle.

  7. Disconnect the power steering pressure hoses from the power steering pump.

  8. Object Number: 1201379  Size: SH
  9. Remove the power steering pump mounting bolts.
  10. Remove the power steering pump.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1201379  Size: SH
  1. Install the power steering pump.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the power steering pump mounting bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the power steering pump mounting bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).


    Object Number: 1207233  Size: SH
  5. Connect the power steering pressure hoses to the power steering pump.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the power steering pressure hose to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  7. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
  8. Connect the oil pressure sensor harness clip to the pump body.
  9. Install the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement .
  10. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 2.8L or Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 3.5L.
  11. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 2.8L or Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.5L.
  12. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
  13. Inspect the power steering system for leaks.
