Makes 🢒 Chevrolet 🢒 2009 🢒 Colorado Pickup - 2WD 🢒 Steering 🢒 Steering Wheel and Column 🢒 Linear Shift Assembly Replacement

Removal Procedure

    Warning: Refer to SIR Warning in the Preface section.

  1. Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) System. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
  2. Remove the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement.
  3. Remove the shift lever. Refer to Shift Lever Replacement.

    4. Object Number: 324874 Size: SH
  4. Insert a small screwdriver into the slot on the ignition lock cylinder case and push against the locking tab to remove the automatic transmission park lock cable (1).
  5. The ignition lock cylinder MUST be in the OFF-LOCK position.

  6. Use a small screwdriver to gently disconnect the automatic transmission shift lock actuator.

    7. Object Number: 1492305 Size: SH
  7. Remove the linear shift assembly bolts.
  8. Remove the linear shift assembly.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1492305 Size: SH
  1. Install the linear shift assembly.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Install the linear shift assembly bolts.

    3. Move the linear shift assembly out of the PARK position temporarily to install the lower linear shift assembly bolt.

    Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  3. Connect the automatic transmission shift lock actuator.

    4. Object Number: 324874 Size: SH
  4. Install the automatic transmission park lock cable (1).
  5. Install the shift lever. Refer to Shift Lever Replacement.
  6. Install the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement.
  7. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
