The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Windshield wipers begin to operate, with wiper switch turned off when the ignition switch is turned on, cycle one to three times and then park somewhere on the windshield. Concern may be intermittent and DTC B3715 B3718 stored in the BCM. This may be the result of a terminal connection at the BCM and/or the wiper motor or an open wiper park circuit between the BCM and wiper motor.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Inspect for an open in circuit 196 (yellow wire) between the BCM and the wiper motor. An area noted by TAC cases was under the EBCM. Using a fused jumper wire in place of circuit 196 can be done as a test. If the condition is corrected with the fused jumper wire, locate the open in circuit 196 (yellow wire) and repair using approved methods.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
