Makes 🢒 Chevrolet 🢒 2005 🢒 Colorado Pickup - 2WD 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Controls - 3.5L (L52) 🢒 Battery Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .

    2. Object Number: 1313634 Size: SH
  2. Open the protective cover (3) to access the battery positive cable terminal.
  3. Loosen the battery positive cable nut (4).
  4. Disconnect the battery positive cable from the battery.

    5. Object Number: 1313644 Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the battery vent duct from the upper battery box (2).
  6. Press the locking tabs (1) inward in order to remove the upper battery box (2) from the lower battery box (3).

    7. Object Number: 1313643 Size: SH
  7. Remove the battery retainer nut (3).
  8. Remove the battery retainer (1) and washer (2).
  9. Remove the battery (4) from the lower battery box (5).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1313643 Size: SH
  1. Install the battery (4) into the lower battery box (5).
  2. Install the battery retainer (1) and washer (2).

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the battery retainer nut (3).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the battery retainer nut to 15 N·m (11 lb  ft).

  4. Install the upper battery box (2) over the battery, engage the locking tabs (1) into the lower battery box (3).
  5. Connect the battery vent duct to the upper battery box (2).

    6. Object Number: 1313634 Size: SH
  6. Clean any existing corrosion from the battery terminal and battery cable using a wire brush.
  7. Connect the battery positive cable to the battery.

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the battery cable nut (4) to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  8. Close the protective cover (3) over the battery positive cable terminal.
  9. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
