Preliminary Procedures

1. Disable the SIR system.
2. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) trim plates. Refer to the following procedures:

•	Instrument Panel Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side

•	Driver Information Display Switch Replacement

•	Instrument Panel Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side

•	Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement

3. Remove the I/P cluster bezel. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement .
4. Remove the passenger inflatable restraint module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Instrument Panel Module Replacement .
5. Remove the I/P upper trim pad air grille assembly. Refer to Defroster Grille Replacement .

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Tighten
2.3 N·m (19 lb in)

Instrument Panel Trim Pad Assembly

Procedure

1. Disconnect the electrical connections.
2. Lift up to release the I/P top panel from the I/P retainer.
3. When replacing trim pad assembly, transfer all necessary components.
