Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1652164  Size: SH
  1. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement .
  2. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) line from the EVAP purge solenoid valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  3. Cap or plug the EVAP line and the purge solenoid in order to prevent system contamination.

  4. Object Number: 890000  Size: SH
  5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  6. Remove the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister. Refer to Evaporative Emission Canister Replacement .
  7. Remove the rear brake pipe bracket nuts and release the brackets from the body studs.

  9. Release the pipe retainers (1) from the vehicle underbody.
  10. Remove the EVAP purge line from the pipe retainers.
  11. Lower the rear of the line while moving the line rearward slightly, then lower the front of the line.
  12. Remove the EVAP purge line from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 49888  Size: SH
  1. Position the EVAP purge line to the vehicle.
  2. With the rear of the line positioned slightly rearward and down, raise the front of the line into position.
  3. Install the remainder of the line into position.
  4. Install the EVAP purge line to the pipe retainers.
  5. Secure the pipe retainers (1) to the vehicle underbody.
  6. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  7. Install the rear brake hose brackets to the body studs and install the rear brake hose bracket nuts.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  9. Install the EVAP canister. Refer to Evaporative Emission Canister Replacement .
  10. Lower the vehicle.

  12. Remove the caps or plugs from the EVAP line and the purge solenoid.
  13. Connect the EVAP line to the EVAP purge solenoid valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  14. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement .
