Front Floor Console Compartment Replacement Non-Luxury

Removal Procedure

  1. Open the center console.

  2. Object Number: 318965  Size: SH
  3. Remove the console storage bin screws.
  4. Remove the 4 bolts retaining the console to the bracket.
  5. Remove the rear cupholder by using a flat bladed tool to pry on one side out, if equipped.
  6. Remove the 2 retaining screws.
  7. Remove the console storage bin from the console.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 318965  Size: SH
  1. Install the console storage bin to the console.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the 2 retaining bin screws.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  5. Install the rear cupholder by pushing the unit in until the cupholder locks into place.
  6. Install the 4 bolts retaining the console to the bracket.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  8. Install the bin screws.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  10. Close the console.

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 756165  Size: SH
  1. Open the console lid.
  2. Remove the storage bin retaining screws (1).
  3. Lift the storage bin out partially.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  5. Lift the storage bin out of the console.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 756165  Size: SH
  1. Partially install the bin into the console.
  2. Connect the electrical connectors.
  3. Allow the storage bin to seat in the console.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the retaining screws (1).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the retaining screws to 1.6 N·m (14 lb in).

  7. Close the console lid.
