Assembly Procedure

    Object Number: 4340 Size: SH
  1. Install the hall effect switch.
  2. Install the two screws holding the hall effect switch. Do not overtighten the screws as the base may strip.
  3. Install the shaft.
  4. Install the tang washer, the washer, and the driven gear.

    5. When the driven gear is properly installed, the dimple located below the roll pin hole, in the driven gear, will be on the same side as the rotor segment when the rotor is installed in the distributor. The alignment will not be exact. If the driven gear is installed incorrectly, the dimple will be approximately 180 degrees opposite the rotor segment when the rotor is installed in the distributor.

  5. Install the roll pin.

    6. Object Number: 4347 Size: SH
  6. Install the rotor. The number 2 is the rotor mounting holes and the number 1 is the locating holes

    7. Object Number: 4354 Size: SH
  7. Install the two screws holding the rotor.

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (20 lb in).

  8. In order to install the distributor into the engine, the distributor cap must be off of the assembly.
