Rear Seat Replacement Tahoe with HP2

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Rotate the rear seatback forward.
  2. Remove rear seat frame front finish cover. Refer to Rear Seat Frame Front Finish Cover Replacement .
  3. Release the rear seat latch and rotate the seat forward.

Rear Seat Hinge Bolt (Qty: 4)

Procedure

  1. Note the position of the spring and bushings in the seat cushion frame for installation.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector, if equipped.
  3. With the aid of an assistant remove the bolts and lift the seat upward from the seat riser for removal.
  4. Transfer parts as needed.

Rear Seat Assembly

Tip
The rear seat is being removed while leaving the seat riser in the vehicle to eliminate the need for disabling the hybrid battery.

  2. Remove the rear seat track finish cover.

Rear Seat Assembly Nut (Qty: 7)

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Tip
Remove the adjuster cover to access the nuts.

Tighten
45 N·m (33 lb ft)

Rear Seat Belt Buckle Anchor Nut

Tip
The nut is located behind the seat.

Tighten
45 N·m (33 lb ft)

Procedure

Disconnect the electrical connector, if equipped.

Rear Seat Assembly Forward Nut (Qty: 4)

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Procedure

Fold the seat forward and remove the floor cover to access the nuts.

Tighten
45 N·m (33 lb ft)

Tighten
45 N·m (33 lb ft)

Rear Seat Assembly

Procedure

  1. Disconnect the electrical connector, if equipped.
  2. Remove the seat with the aid of an assistant; the seat is very heavy.
  3. It is important that the washers stay in the correct locations for installation to ensure seat alignment.
  4. • The rear inboard left side stud has one washer.
    • The rear inboard right side stud has two washers.
    • The front inboard right side stud has one washer.
