The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Step 10 of the dealer installation instructions directs the technician to disconnect the 12-way accessory connector from the back of the radio. The 12-way connector may not be present at the back of the radio if the vehicle is not equipped with another remote audio device (OnStar®, rear seat audio, etc.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Plug the male 12-way connector on the XM™ kit harness into radio. The female 12-way connector on the kit harness will not be used and the tech can disregard that part of the installation and proceed to step 11.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
