Evaporative Emission Canister Replacement Tahoe/Yukon

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 569589  Size: SH
  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister mount bolts.

  3. Object Number: 569579  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the pipes at the EVAP canister.

  5. Object Number: 627206  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the vent valve pipe (3) at the EVAP canister bracket.
  7. Remove the EVAP canister from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 627206  Size: SH
  1. Install the EVAP canister to the vehicle.
  2. Connect the vent valve pipe (3) to the EVAP canister bracket.

  3. Object Number: 569579  Size: SH
  4. Connect the pipes to the EVAP canister.

  5. Object Number: 569589  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the EVAP canister mounting bolts.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  8. Lower the vehicle.

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 627200  Size: SH
  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the left evaporative emission (EVAP) canister mount bolt.

  3. Object Number: 627197  Size: SH
  4. Remove the right EVAP canister mount bolt.

  5. Object Number: 627194  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the pipes (1, 2) at the EVAP canister.

  7. Object Number: 625803  Size: SH
  8. Disconnect the vent valve pipe (2) at the EVAP canister bracket.
  9. Remove the EVAP canister from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 625803  Size: SH
  1. Install the EVAP canister to the vehicle.
  2. Connect the vent valve pipe (2) to the EVAP canister bracket.

  3. Object Number: 627194  Size: SH
  4. Connect the pipes (1, 2) to the EVAP canister.

  5. Object Number: 627200  Size: SH
  6. Install the left EVAP canister mounting bolt.

  7. Object Number: 627197  Size: SH
