SUBJECT: WARRANTY ADMINISTRATION - ELIMINATION OF LABOR OPERATIONS Z7920 AND Z7930

MODELS: ALL PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE CHEVROLET PASSENGER CARS AND LIGHT DUTY TRUCKS

THE PURPOSE OF THIS WARRANTY ADMINISTRATION BULLETIN IS TO ANNOUNCE THAT EFFECTIVE WITH REPAIR ORDERS DATED JUNE 1, 1998, THE ABOVE LABOR OPERATIONS WILL NO LONGER BE UTILIZED. THESE CHANGES ARE BEING MADE AS A RESULT OF THE COMMON GENERAL MOTORS EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM ANNOUNCED IN BULLETIN 72-05-09 DATED FEBRUARY 1998.

LABOR OPERATION Z7920 WAS USED TO REIMBURSE CUSTOMERS FOR INCIDENTAL EXPENSES INCURRED AS A RESULT OF THE LOSS OF THE USE OF THEIR VEHICLE ASSOCIATED WITH WARRANTY/GOODWILL REPAIRS. IF THIS TYPE OF REIMBURSEMENT IS REQUESTED BY AN OWNER, THE OWNER SHOULD BE REFERRED TO THE CHEVROLET CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER.

LABOR OPERATION Z7930 WAS USED TO REIMBURSE CUSTOMERS FOR EMERGENCY REPAIRS. THIS TYPE OF REQUEST WILL BE HANDLED BY UTILIZING CLAIM TYPE 'S' UP TO THE APPLICABLE DOLLAR AMOUNT FOR THE DEALER EMPOWERMENT PRIVILEGES. INSTRUCTIONS FOR CLAIM TYPE 'S' SUBMISSION CAN BE FOUND IN SECTION VII OF THE WINS CLAIMS PROCESSING MANUAL. IF THE REQUEST EXCEEDS THE DEALER'S EMPOWERMENT PRIVILEGES, THE CUSTOMER SHOULD BE REFERRED TO THE CHEVROLET CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER.
