DELCO-REMY GENERATORS TYPE 200 NO WIRE HARNESS CONNECTORS

MOST MEDIUM DUTY GENERATORS HAVE AN EXTERNALLY ENERGIZED FIELD UTILIZING THE NO. 1 AND NO. 2 GENERATOR TERMINALS AND A SEPARATE WIRING HARNESS EQUIPPED WITH A TWO-WAY CONNECTOR (FIGURE NO. 1). HOWEVER, THE 27-SI TYPE 200 GENERATOR IS SELF-ENERGIZING AND DOES NOT REQUIRE THIS HARNESS (FIGURE NO. 2). WHEN THE 27-SI TYPE 200 GENERATOR IS USED, THE "EXTRA" WIRES ARE TAPED BACK ON THE HARNESS. IF THE TAPED BACK PORTION OF THE HARNESS IS CONNECTED TO A TYPE 200 GENERATOR IN ERROR, THE VOLTAGE REGULATOR MAY BE DAMAGED AND AND THE BATTERIES MAY DISCHARGE.
