DTC Descriptors
DTC B1489 : Generator L-Terminal Circuit Open - Program GBCMCircuit/System Description
DTC B1489 is calibrated off in the latest version of generator battery control module (GBCM) software. If DTC B1489 is set either current or in history, then the GBCM needs to be programmed with the latest software.
Conditions for Running the DTC
The ignition is ON.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
The GBCM has the incorrect software installed.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
| • | The charge indicator turns ON. |
| • | The driver information center (DIC) displays the BATTERY NOT CHARGING message. |
Diagnostic Aids
| • | DTC B1489 may set if the GBCM has been replaced with a new service part that has not been not programmed with the latest software. |
