Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 794629  Size: SH
  1. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  2. Remove the bolt from the right side idler pulley (ribbed pulley).
  3. Remove the idler pulley.

  4. Object Number: 656135  Size: SH
  5. Remove the bolt for the center idler pulley (smooth pulley).
  6. Remove the idler pulley.

  7. Object Number: 656138  Size: SH
  8. If equipped with dual generators, remove the bolt from the left side idler pulley (smooth pulley).
  9. Remove the idler pulley.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 794629  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the right side idler pulley and bolt.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 37 N·m (27 lb ft).

  3. Install the center idler pulley and bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 37 N·m (27 lb ft).


    Object Number: 656138  Size: SH
  5. If equipped with dual generators, install the left side idler pulley and bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 37 N·m (27 lb ft).

  7. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
