Allison LCT1000 Transmission Oil Cooler Line Fitting Clarification - kw automatic converter fluid hose housing leak seal wet fit part SRTA M74

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom described in the PI.

Cooler line fitting compatibility issues with replacement Allison LCT1000 transmissions and/or converter housings.

The following information provides details for each model year. Transmission oil cooler line identification::

01 - 03SOP (first design) nipple length 5/8 of an inch from the end of line to the shoulder. 2003 and newer (second design) nipple length 13/16 of an inch from the end of the line to the shoulder production started approximately October 1, 2002.

Use connector P/N 29540501 on 01-02 vehicles that require a transmission oil cooler line fitting (3/4" thread) on the transmission converter housing (w/first design lines). Includes a single fitting and retainer clip. Requires 2 per vehicle.

Use connector kit P/N 88996640 if there is a compatibility issue between the vehicle's cooler lines and the transmission cooler fitting. This service connector kit adapts a MY03 Allison reman transmission built with large (7/8 inch thread) cooler ports to a vehicle equipped with MY01, MY02, MY03 (first design) cooler lines. Kit includes 2 fittings from cooler (longer) and to cooler (shorter). Requires 1 per vehicle.

Use connector p/n 88996645 to adapt a MY03 Allison reman transmission to an Allison equipped vehicle with the MY03 (second design) cooler lines. Requires 2 per vehicle. If the auxillary transmission cooler would need to be replaced, use transmission oil cooler kit p/n 89040217 includes the auxillary transmission oil cooler, fittings, and line retainer clips and covers all years 01-05.
