Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 399638  Size: SH
  3. Remove the horn switch from the steering wheel.

  4. Object Number: 755486  Size: SH
  5. Remove the steering wheel shroud retaining screws from the back of the steering wheel.
  6. Remove the steering wheel shroud from the steering wheel.

  7. Object Number: 408596  Size: SH
  8. Remove the steering wheel control switch mounting screws.

  9. Object Number: 780085  Size: SH
  10. Disconnect the steering wheel control switch (2) electrical connector (1).

  11. Object Number: 408598  Size: SH
  12. Remove the steering wheel control switch from the steering wheel.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 408598  Size: SH
  1. Install the steering wheel control switch to the steering wheel.

  2. Object Number: 408596  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the steering wheel control switch mounting screws.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the mounting screws to 2 N·m (20 lb in).

  5. Connect the electrical connector (1) to the steering wheel control switch.

  6. Object Number: 399638  Size: SH
  7. Install the horn switch to the steering wheel.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the steering wheel horn switch to 5.5 N·m (50 lb in).

  9. Install the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
