For 1990-2009 cars only
  1. Install the following throttle valve components to the valve body:
  2. • The secondary valve spring
    • The throttle valve compensating ring(s)
    • The throttle valve
    • The throttle valve primary spring
    • The down shift plug
    • Secure with the locating pin.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the following TV cable cam components:
  4. • The return spring
    • The spacer
    • The cam
    • The bolt

    Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  5. Install the front valve body end cover.
  6. Handstart one of the end cover pressure relief valve bolts (1).
  7. Install the secondary valve spring to the valve body.
  8. Install the secondary regulator valve to the valve body.
  9. Rotate the end cover over the valve.

  10. Object Number: 153861  Size: SH
  11. Install the second end cover pressure relief valve bolt.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  13. Install the following cut back valve components:
  14. • The spring
    • The valve
    • The plug
    • The retainer
  15. Install the throttle valve keep plate to the valve body.
