Removal Procedure

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the valve rocker arm cover. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement

  3. Object Number: 260140  Size: SH
  4. Remove the valve rocker arm (s) and the pushrod (s). Refer to Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Removal
  5. Clean and inspect all parts. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rods Clean and Inspect

Installation Procedure

Notice: In order to properly seat the valve train components, it is critical to rotate the camshaft. Failure to follow the service procedure may result in a loss of engine performance and engine damage.

  1. Install the valve rocker arm (s) and the pushrod (s). Refer to Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Installation
  2. Install the valve rocker arm cover. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement
  3. Connect the negative battery cable.
