Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 260101  Size: SH
  1. Remove the engine sight shield.

  2. Object Number: 344610  Size: SH
  3. Push the EVAP pipe quick connect fitting retainer inward.

  4. Object Number: 372717  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the EVAP pipe (2) from the EVAP purge solenoid (1).

  6. Object Number: 389993  Size: SH
  7. Disconnect the EVAP purge solenoid electrical connector.
  8. Remove the EVAP purge solenoid mount bolt (2).
  9. Remove the EVAP purge solenoid (3) and the insulator (1) from the engine.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 389993  Size: SH
  1. Install the insulator (1) on the EVAP purge solenoid (3).
  2. Install the EVAP purge solenoid (3) to the engine.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the EVAP purge solenoid mount bolt (2).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the EVAP purge solenoid mount bolt to 10.5 N·m (93 lb in).

  6. Connect the EVAP pipe (2) to the EVAP purge solenoid (1).
  7. Connect the EVAP purge solenoid electrical connector.
