Brake Rotor Replacement K Models Below 8600 GVW

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle with suitable safety stands.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Wheel Removal in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Remove the brake caliper. Refer to Brake Caliper Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 157043  Size: SH
  5. Remove the rotor.
  6. Inspect all of the parts. Replace the parts as necessary.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 157043  Size: SH
  1. Install the rotor to the hub and bearing assembly.
  2. Install the brake caliper. Refer to Brake Caliper Replacement .
  3. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Wheel Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  4. Lower the vehicle.
  5. Depress the brake pedal.

Brake Rotor Replacement K Models 8600 GVW and Above

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in general Information.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Wheel Removal in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Remove the brake caliper. Refer to Brake Caliper Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 157043  Size: SH
  5. Remove the nut.

  6. Object Number: 156931  Size: MH
  7. Remove the hub/rotor retaining bolts.
  8. Remove the rotor assembly.
  9. Inspect all of the parts. Replace the parts as necessary.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 157043  Size: SH
  1. Install the hub/rotor to the hub and bearing assembly.

  2. Object Number: 157034  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the rotor and hub assembly to the axle.
  4. Tighten

        • Tighten the bolts to 180 N·m (133 lb ft).
        • Tighten the nut to 225 N·m (165 lb ft).
  5. Install the brake caliper. Refer to Brake Caliper Replacement .
  6. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Wheel Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  7. Lower the vehicle.Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  8. Depress the brake pedal.
