COIL WIRE SERVICE IDENTIFICATION OF PROPER COIL

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1982-86 'J' Models Equipped With 1.8L (VIN Code G) and 2.OL (VIN Code P)

When replacing the coil wire on the 1982-86 'J' model with the 1.8L carbureted engine or the 2.OL fuel injected engines the proper part number wire must be used to insure proper engagement of the terminal and sealing against contamination, (See Illustration attached).

NOTICE: If the 1982-84 part is used on the 1985-86 models, the boot will be too long on the distributor end and may not allow proper terminal engagement. Also, the boot will be too short on the coil end and a poor seal against contamination may result.
