CHOKE LIGHT REMAINS ON REPLACE CHOKE HEATER RELAY

Conditions may arise where the choke light stays on for some period of time after the engine is started. Engines affected are:

1982 1983

Celebrity LE2, LW9 & LR8 With UF7 LE3 & LW9 Camaro LC1, LG4 & LQ8 LCl, LG4 & LQ8 Cavalier All Canada MN4 Citation LE2 With U22, LH7 With LE2 With U22 U21 & LW9 LH7 With U21 & LW9

Other than the causes indicated in the service manuals for the light staying on, this condition can be the result of a choke heater relay that has too low of a drop out voltage causing the relay to stay energized and the light to stay on. Replacement of the relay with the service part will correct the condition.
