Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement LAT

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1810870  Size: SH
  1. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  2. Remove the generator starter bolts and position generator starter aside.

  3. Object Number: 1809414  Size: SH
  4. Remove the drive belt tensioner bolts (2).
  5. Remove the drive belt tensioner (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1809414  Size: SH

    Caution: To avoid personal injury, only remove the tensioner shipping clip when the tensioner is properly mounted to the engine and the accessory drive belt is in place and properly routed.

  1. Position the drive belt tensioner (1).
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the drive belt tensioner bolts (2).
  4. Tighten

        • Tighten the top bolt to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).
        • Tighten the lower bolt to 58 N·m (43 lb ft).

  5. Position the generator starter to the vehicle and install the bolts.
  6. Tighten the generator starter bolts in the following sequence.
  7. 4.1. Front
    4.2. Bottom

    Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 58 N·m (43 lb ft).

  8. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  9. Using a 6 point socket on the hex boss on the drive belt tensioner, release the tension and remove the shipping clip by hand. Discard the clip.

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  2. Remove the drive belt tensioner bolt.
  3. Remove the drive belt tensioner.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1571145  Size: SH
  1. Position the drive belt tensioner.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the drive belt tensioner bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).

  5. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
