Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1760931 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the direct ignition system (DIS) connector.
  3. Note the ignition wires’ location and remove the ignition wires.

    4. Object Number: 1760933 Size: SH
  4. Remove the DIS retaining bolts.
  5. Remove the DIS.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1760933 Size: SH
  1. Install the DIS into the mounting location and install the retaining bolts.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the DIS retaining bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  2. Connect the DIS connector.
  3. Install the ignition wires.
  4. Connect the negative battery cable.
