Makes 🢒 Chevrolet 🢒 2008 🢒 Caprice WM 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L, or 7.0L 🢒 Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Housing Replacement

Tools Required

    • J 41476 Front and Rear Cover Alignment
    • J 41479 Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Installer

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the engine assembly. Refer to Engine Replacement .
  2. Remove the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .
  3. Remove the engine flywheel. Refer to Engine Flywheel Replacement .

    4. Object Number: 1951044 Size: SH
  4. Remove the engine rear cover to cylinder block retaining bolts (1).
  5. Remove the engine rear cover (2) and engine rear cover gasket (3).
  6. Discard the engine rear cover gasket (3).
  7. Clean and inspect the engine rear cover (2). Refer to Engine Rear Cover Cleaning and Inspection .

Installation Procedure
  1. Install the engine rear cover. Refer to Engine Rear Cover Installation .
  2. Install the crankshaft rear seal. Refer to Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Replacement .
  3. Install the engine flywheel. Refer to Engine Flywheel Replacement .
  4. Install the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .
  5. Install the engine assembly. Refer to Engine Replacement .
