DTC B1001 00: Option Configuration Error (RPO Mismatch)

Diagnostic Fault Information

Important: Always perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle prior to using this diagnostic procedure.

Circuit/System Description

The instrument panel cluster (IPC) has an initial vehicle system programming error.

Conditions for Running DTC

    • System voltage is between 9-16 volts.
    • Ignition switch is in the ON position.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The IPC is powered up prior to RPO programming.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

    • The condition for setting the DTC is no longer present.
    • The DTC can be cleared using a scan tool.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The IPC will display a "Program with Scan Tool" message.

Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition ON, using the scan tool, verify that DTC B1001 is not set as current.
  2. If DTC B1001 is set as current, attempt to re-calibrate the IPC.
  3. Clear all DTCs using the scan tool, verify that DTC B1001 is no longer set as current.
  4. If DTC B1001 is still current. Replace the IPC.
