Clutch Master Cylinder Fluid Replacement 6.0L Engine

Tools Required

Customer Concern Verification Sheets AU529

    Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.

    Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution in the Preface section.

    Notice: Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Notice in the Preface section.

    Notice: DO NOT use fluid which has been bled from a hydraulic clutch system, in order to fill the clutch master cylinder reservoir, due to the possibility that the fluid may be aerated, have too much moisture content, or be contaminated and may cause system or vehicle damage.

  3. Install the bleeder to the concentric actuator cylinder bleeder screw (1).
  4. 2.1. Loosen the concentric actuator cylinder bleeder screw (1).
    2.2. Use the bleeder (2) to force air from the hydraulic system.
    2.3. Allow fluid flow through the system until fluid runs clearly, immersed into a clean container.
    2.4. Make sure the correct fluid level is maintained.

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

    2.5. Tighten the concentric actuator cylinder bleed screw (1).

    Tighten
    Tighten the bleed screw to 18  N·m 13 lb ft).

  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Make sure fluid level is correct.
  7. Road test vehicle for correct clutch operation.

    Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution in the Preface section.

    Notice: Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the hydraulic pressure bleeder to the bleed nipple (2).
  4. Loosen the bleeder assembly bleed nipple (2).

    Use the hydraulic pressure bleeder (1) to force air from the hydraulic system.

    Allow fluid flow through the system until fluid runs clearly, immersed into a clean container.

    Make sure the correct fluid level is maintained.

  5. Tighten the bleeder assembly bleed nipple (2).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bleed nipple to 18  N·m 13 lb ft).

  7. Lower the vehicle.
