Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable from the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.

  2. Object Number: 2017818  Size: SH

    Important: The battery isolator (5) is located in the luggage compartment in the LHS rear quarter panel.

  3. Remove the primary and secondary battery cable retaining nuts (3).
  4. Disconnect the primary and secondary battery cables from the battery isolator (5).
  5. Disconnect the battery isolator (5) input connector (2).
  6. Important: The battery isolator negative cable (1) is secure with the battery isolator retaining bolts, make sure the ground cable is removed when removing the retaining bolts (7).

  7. Remove the battery isolator retaining bolts (4).
  8. Remove the battery isolator (5).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 2017818  Size: SH
  1. Install the battery isolator (5).
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the battery isolator retaining bolts (4).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 11  N·m (97 lb in).

  5. Connect the battery isolator input connector (2).
  6. Connect the primary and secondary battery cables to the battery isolator (5).
  7. Install the primary and secondary battery isolator retaining nuts (3).
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to xx  N·m (xx lb in).

  9. Connect the battery ground cable to the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
