Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 2017814 Size: SH

    Important: The auxiliary battery is located in the luggage compartment in the RHS rear quarter panel cavity.

  1. Loosen and detach the auxiliary battery top cover retaining strap (1).

    2. Object Number: 2017815 Size: SH
  2. Remove the auxiliary battery top cover  (1) from the auxiliary battery box (2).

    3. Object Number: 2017816 Size: SH
  3. Remove the auxiliary battery vent tube (2).
  4. Disconnect the battery positive cable (3).

    5. Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  5. Disconnect the auxiliary battery negative cable (1). Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connectionl.

  6. Remove the auxiliary battery retaining wing nuts (1) and remove the battery retainer (2).
  7. Remove the auxiliary battery (3) out of the auxiliary battery box (4).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 2017817 Size: SH
  1. Install the auxiliary battery (3) into the battery box (4).
  2. Install the auxiliary battery retaining bracket (2).

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the auxiliary bracket retaining wing nuts (1).

    4. Object Number: 2017816 Size: SH
  4. Connect the battery positive cable (3).

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 17  N·m (13 lb ft).

  5. Install the auxiliary battery vent tube (2).
  6. Connect the auxiliary negative battery cable (1). Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.

  7. Install the auxiliary battery top cover (1) to the auxiliary battery box (2).

    8. Object Number: 2017814 Size: SH
  8. Attach and tighten the auxiliary battery top cover retaining strap (1).
  9. Test the vehicles electrical components for correct operation.
