Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement W/O Traction Control

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 213402  Size: SH
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector.
  3. Clean all dirt and debris from the sensor housing/sensor interface area.
  4. Remove the wheel speed sensor bolt (3).
  5. Remove the wheel speed sensor (4) by pulling straight up from the rear axle housing.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the wheel speed sensor (4) to the rear axle housing.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the wheel speed sensor mounting bolt (3).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Connect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector.
  6. Lower vehicle.

Removal Procedure

  2. Object Number: 213413  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector (2).
  4. Clean all dirt and debris from the sensor housing/sensor interface area.
  5. Remove the wheel speed sensor bolt.
  6. Remove the wheel speed sensor (1).

  1. Install the wheel speed sensor (1).
