Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 403996  Size: SH
  1. Remove the exterior retaining bolt and discard.

  2. Object Number: 296111  Size: SH
  3. Remove the left instrument panel insulator (1). Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

  4. Object Number: 403994  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the harness from the throttle actuator control (TAC) module.

  6. Object Number: 403993  Size: SH
  7. Remove the interior retaining bolt and nut.
  8. Remove the pedal of the TAC module assembly from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 403993  Size: SH
  1. Install the pedal of the TAC module assembly to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the interior retaining bolt and nut.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m(18 lb ft) and tighten the nut to 20 N·m(15 lb ft).

  5. Connect the harness to the TAC module.

  6. Object Number: 296111  Size: SH
  7. Install the left instrument panel insulator (1). Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

  8. Object Number: 403996  Size: SH
  9. Install the new exterior retaining bolt.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 8 N·m(71 lb in).
