J 34730-1A Fuel Pressure Gage

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 155410  Size: SH
  1. Before you service any fuel system connection, relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .

    Caution: Wear safety glasses when using compressed air in order to prevent eye injury.

  2. Use compressed air in order to blow any dirt from the quick-connect fitting.

  3. Object Number: 12777  Size: SH

    Important: Plastic quick connect fittings can be released either by squeezing the plastic retainer release tabs, or by using the appropriate J 37088-A .

  4. Squeeze the plastic retainer release tabs.

  5. Object Number: 12780  Size: SH
  6. Select the correct tool from J 37088-A for the size of the fitting. Insert the tool into the female connector, then push inward in order to release the locking tabs. The plastic retainer will remain on the female connector.

  7. Object Number: 12778  Size: SH
  8. Pull the connection apart.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: In order to reduce the risk of fire and personal injury, before connecting fuel pipe fittings, always apply a few drops of clean engine oil to the male pipe ends.

    This will ensure proper reconnection and prevent a possible fuel leak.

    During normal operation, the O-rings located in the female connector will swell and may prevent proper reconnection if not lubricated.

  1. Apply a few drops of clean engine oil to the male fuel pipe end.

  2. Object Number: 21855  Size: SH
  3. Push both sides of the quick-connect fitting together in order to cause the retaining tabs or fingers to snap into place.

  4. Object Number: 155399  Size: SH
  5. When the fitting is installed, pull on both sides of the quick-connect fitting in order to ensure that the connection is secure.
