Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 223008 Size: SH
  1. Remove the exhaust muffler. Refer to Muffler Replacement .
  2. Remove the exhaust muffler heat shield bolts.

    3. Object Number: 223010 Size: SH
  3. Remove the exhaust muffler heat shield bolt.

    4. Object Number: 223012 Size: SH
  4. Remove the exhaust muffler heat shield bolts and bracket.
  5. Remove the exhaust muffler heat shield.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 223012 Size: SH
  1. Install the exhaust muffler heat shield.

    2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the exhaust muffler heat shield bracket and bolts.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the muffler heat shield bolts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  3. Install the exhaust muffler heat shield bolt.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the exhaust muffler heat shield bolt to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  4. Install the exhaust muffler heat shield bolts.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the exhaust muffler heat shield bolts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  5. Install the exhaust muffler. Refer to Muffler Replacement .
