Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 298167 Size: SH
  1. Install the 3-2 control solenoid.
  2. Install the 3-2 control solenoid retainer.

  3. Object Number: 298169 Size: SH
  4. Install the 1-2 and 2-3 shift solenoids.
  5. Install the 1-2 and 2-3 shift solenoid retainers.

  6. Object Number: 298162 Size: SH
  7. Install the pressure control solenoid.
  8. Ensure that the electrical tabs are facing outboard.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  9. Install the pressure control solenoid retainer and retaining bolt.
  10. Tighten
Tighten the pressure control solenoid retaining bolt to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

    Object Number: 181573 Size: SH
  11. Connect the internal wiring harness electrical connectors to the following components:
  12. • Transmission fluid pressure switch (1)
    • 1-2 shift control solenoid (2)
    • 2-3 shift control solenoid (3)
    • Pressure control solenoid (4)
    • TCC PWM solenoid (5)
    • 3-2 control solenoid (6)
  13. Install the 1-2 accumulator. Refer to Accumulator Assembly, Spacer Plate, and Gaskets .
  14. Install the transmission oil pan and filter. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid and Filter Replacement .
  15. Important: It is recommended that the transmission adaptive pressure (TAP) information be reset.

Resetting the TAP values using a scan tool will erase all learned values in all cells. As a result, the ECM, PCM or TCM will need to relearn the TAP values. Transmission performance may be affected as new TAP values are learned,

  16. Reset the TAP values. Refer to Adapt Function .
