High Mount Stop Lamp Replacement Chevrolet

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 294755  Size: SH
  1. Remove the high mount stop lamp screws.
  2. Remove the liftgate window trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement in Body Rear End.

  3. Object Number: 294758  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the high mount stop lamp connector from the electrical harness.

  5. Object Number: 294755  Size: SH
  6. Remove the high mount stop lamp from the rear end spoiler.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 294755  Size: SH
  1. Position the high mount stop lamp to the rear end spoiler.

  2. Object Number: 294758  Size: SH
  3. Connect the high mount stop lamp connector to the electrical harness.
  4. Install the liftgate window finishing lace. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement in Body Rear End.

  5. Object Number: 294755  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the high mount stop lamp screws.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the high mount stop lamp screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  1. Remove the high mount stop lamp screws.

  4. Disconnect the high mount stop lamp connector from the electrical harness.

  6. Remove the high mount stop lamp from the rear end spoiler.

  1. Position the high mount stop lamp to the rear end spoiler.

  2. Object Number: 294758  Size: SH
  3. Connect the high mount stop lamp connector to the electrical harness.

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 294755  Size: SH
  1. Remove the high mount stop lamp screws.
  2. Open the rear compartment.
  3. Remove the rubber access plug located in the center of the trunk inner.

  4. Object Number: 379376  Size: SH
  5. Pull the wires through the access hole until the connector is reached.
  6. Remove the foam tape from the connector.
  7. Disconnect the high mount stop lamp electrical connector.
  8. Remove the high mount stop lamp.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 379376  Size: SH
  1. Position the high mount stop lamp to the rear spoiler.
  2. Connect the high mount stop lamp electrical connector.
  3. Install foam tape 3M™ P/N 6380 or equivalent around the connector.
  4. Push the wires into the access hole.
  5. Install the rubber access hole cover.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application.   1. Remove the high mount stop lamp screws.
  2. Open the rear compartment.
  3. Remove the rubber access plug located in the center of the rear compartment.

  4. Object Number: 379375  Size: SH
  5. Pull the wires through the access hole until the connector is reached.
  6. Remove the foam tape from the connector.
  7. Disconnect the high mount stop lamp electrical connector.
  8. Remove the high mount stop lamp.

  1. Position the high mount stop lamp to the rear compartment lid.
  2. Connect the high mount stop lamp electrical connector.
  3. Install foam tape 3M™ 6308 or equivalent around the connector.
  4. Push the wires into the access hole.
  5. Install the rubber access hole cover.
