Intake Manifold Installation Upper


    Object Number: 36634  Size: SH
  1. Install the upper intake manifold gasket.
  2. Install the upper intake manifold.
  3. Install the water outlet.

  4. Object Number: 50287  Size: SH
  5. Install the upper intake manifold bolts.
  6. Tighten

        • Tighten the vertical bolts in sequence to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).
        • Tighten the two water outlet bolts in sequence to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).
        • Tighten the side bolts in sequence to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  7. Install the fuel injector rail.
  8. Install the fuel injector rail nuts.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel injector rail nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  10. Install the throttle body gasket.
  11. Install the throttle body.
  12. Install the throttle body nuts and bolt.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the throttle body nuts and bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  14. Install the EGR outlet pipe to the intake manifold.
  15. Tighten
    Tighten the EGR outlet pipe bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft) and the nut to 29 N·m (21 lb ft).

  16. Install the manifold vacuum source.

Intake Manifold Installation Lower

  1. Install the lower intake manifold gasket.
  2. Install the lower intake manifold.
  3. Apply GM P/N 12345382 threadlocker or equivalent on the threads.

  4. Object Number: 50288  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the lower intake manifold bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).
