Front Floor Console Replacement Full Length (Auto Trans)

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 392693  Size: SH
  1. Remove the shift handle retaining clip at the front of the handle.
  2. Remove the shift handle from the shift lever.

  3. Object Number: 392688  Size: SH
  4. Open the console lid.
  5. Remove the console compartment inserts.

  6. Object Number: 392698  Size: SH
  7. Remove the transmission select switch (if equipped).

  8. Object Number: 303478  Size: SH
  9. Remove the nuts that retain the rear of the console.
  10. Remove the cup holder insert.
  11. Remove the screws that retain the front of the console to the vehicle.
  12. Remove the console from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 303478  Size: SH
  1. Install the console to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the screws that retain the front of the console.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 7 N·m (63 lb in).

  5. Install the cup holder insert.
  6. Install the nuts that retain the rear of the console.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  8. Install the transmission select switch (if equipped).

  9. Object Number: 392688  Size: SH
  10. Install the console compartment insert.
  11. Install the console compartment insert screws.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).

  13. Install the shift handle to the shift lever.
  14. Install the shift handle retaining clip at the front of the handle.

Front Floor Console Replacement Non-Full Length

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 303463  Size: SH
  1. For manual transmission only, remove the shift control lever. Refer to Control Lever and/or Boot Replacement in Manual Transmission- NV 3500.
  2. Remove the console from the floor.
  3. Pull up on the console in order to release the retainer clips.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 303463  Size: SH
  1. Use care when installing the console so the clips do not bend.
  2. install the console to the floor.
  3. For manual transmission only, install the shift lever. Refer to Control Lever and/or Boot Replacement in Manual Transmission- NV 3500.

Front Floor Console Replacement Full-Length (Manual Trans)

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 303465  Size: SH
  1. Remove the shift control lever. Refer to Control Lever and/or Boot Replacement in Manual Transmission- NV 3500.
  2. Remove the cup holder insert.
  3. Remove the screws that retain the trim plate to the console.
  4. Remove the trim plate from the console.

  5. Object Number: 392688  Size: SH
  6. Open the storage compartment cover.
  7. Remove the storage compartment.

  8. Object Number: 303478  Size: SH
  9. Remove the nuts that retain the console to the vehicle.
  10. Disconnect the electrical connector, if equipped.
  11. Remove the console from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 303478  Size: SH
  1. Install the console to the vehicle.
  2. Connect the electrical connector, if equipped.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.   4. Install the nuts that retain the console to the vehicle.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 10 N·m (88 lb in).

  6. Install the storage compartment to the vehicle.

  7. Object Number: 303465  Size: SH
  8. Install the trim plate to the console.
  9. Install the screws that retain the trim plate to the console.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).

  11. Install the cup holder insert.
  12. Install the shift control lever. Refer to Control Lever and/or Boot Replacement in Manual Transmission- NV 3500.
