Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 392802  Size: SH
  1. Remove the battery and battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  2. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum actuator.

  3. Object Number: 392797  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect front drive axle clutch cable.

  5. Object Number: 392809  Size: SH
  6. Remove the vacuum actuator bolts.
  7. Remove the vacuum actuator.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 392809  Size: SH
  1. Install the vacuum actuator.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the vacuum actuator bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 1.4 N·m (12 lb in).

  5. Connect the front drive axle clutch cable.
  6. The front drive axle clutch cable must engage the vacuum actuator retainer spring.

  7. Connect the vacuum hose.
  8. Install the battery tray and the battery. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement in Engine Electrical.
