Electronic Brake Control Module Replacement 310 ABS

Removal Procedure

Important: After installation, calibrate the new EBCM to the tire size that is appropriate to the vehicle. Refer to Tire Size Calibration in Scan Tool Diagnostics .

  1. Remove the four T-25 TORX® screws (1) that fasten the EBCM (2) to the BPMV (4).
  2. Important: Do not use a tool to pry the EBCM or the BPMV. Excessive force will damage the EBCM.

  3. Partially remove the EBCM (2) from the BPMV (4) enough to access the electrical connectors. Removal may require a light amount of force.
  4. Disconnect the four electrical connectors from EBCM.
  5. Fully remove the EBCM (2) from the BPMV (4).

Installation Procedure

Important: Do not reuse the old mounting screws. Always install new mounting screws with the new EBCM.

    Important: Do not use RTV or any other type of sealant on the EBCM gasket (3) or mating surfaces.

  1. Connect the four electrical connectors to the EBCM.
  2. Install EBCM (2) on to the BPMV (4).
  3. Notice: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the four new T-25 TORX® screws (1) in the EBCM (2).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the four T-25 TORX® screws to 5 N·m (39 lb in) in an X-pattern.

  6. Revise the tire calibration using the Scan Tool. Refer to Scan Tool Diagnostics .
  7. Return to Diagnostic System Check .

Removal Procedure

Important: After installation, calibrate the new EBCM to the tire size that is appropriate to the vehicle. Refer to Tire Size Calibration portion of Scan Tool Diagnostics .


    Object Number: 550743  Size: SH

    Important: Thoroughly wash all contaminants from around the EHCU. The area around the EHCU must be free from loose dirt to prevent contamination of disassembled ABS components.

  1. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the EBCM (2).
  2. Remove the four T 25 TORX® mounting screws (1) that fasten the EBCM (2) to the BPMV (3).
  3. Remove the EBCM (2) from the BPMV (3). Removal may require a light amount of force.
  4. Important: Do not use a tool to pry the EBCM or the BPMV. Excessive force will damage the EBCM.

  5. Clean the BPMV (3) to EBCM (2) mounting surfaces with a clean cloth.

Installation Procedure

Important: Do not reuse the old mounting screws. Always install new mounting screws with the new EBCM.

  1. Install EBCM (2) on to the BPMV (2).
  2. Notice: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the four new T-25 TORX® screws (1) in the EBCM (2).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the four T-25 TORX® screws to 5 N·m (39 lb in) in an X-pattern.

  5. Connect the electrical connectors to the EBCM (2).
  6. Revise the tire calibration using the Scan Tool Tire Size Calibration function. Refer to Scan Tool Diagnostics .
  7. Return to Diagnostic System Check .
