Verify that the blower motor operates at high speed only.

Does the blower motor operate normally?

  1. Disconnect the blower motor relay.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  3. Turn the mode selector switch to the HEAT position.
  4. Connect a fused jumper wire to the blower motor relay connector cavity 87A (CKT 101) and cavity 30 (CKT 65).

Does the blower motor operate?

Replace the blower motor relay.

Is the replacement complete?

Go to Step 8

  1. Reinstall the blower motor relay.
  2. Disconnect the blower motor resistor.
  3. Connect a fused jumper wire to the resistor connector cavity B (CKT 64) and cavity C (CKT 101).

Does the blower motor operate at HIGH speed?

Repair the open or high resistance in CKT 101 (DK BLU).

Is the repair complete?

Replace the blower motor resistor. Refer to Blower Motor Resistor Replacement .

Is the replacement complete?
