Service Body System Indicator Illuminates in Tow/Haul Mode - instrument IPC MIL panel shift tow

When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

Dealer may complain of the Service Body System tell-tale illuminating when pressing the tow/haul button.

The Service Body System and Tow/Haul tell-tales are indicated in the same place on the instrument panel cluster depending on what option the customer has chosen.

If the vehicle has the Tow/Haul option, the instrument panel cluster will indicate the Tow/Haul tell-tale. However, if the vehicle does NOT have the Tow/Haul option, the instrument panel cluster will indicate the Service Body System tell-tale.

The Tow/Haul function should still work, the only concern should be that the "Service Body Systems" tell-tale illuminates not the "Tow/Haul" tell-tale.

To correct, exchange for the incorrect instrument panel cluster for the correct one.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
