MINIMUM OIL FILTER CLEARANCE INFORMATION

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1989 J AND L CAR W/2.0 (VIN CODE 1) AND A/T

On some vehicles there may be a reduced clearance condition between the oil filter and the right drive axle inner boot clamp.

If such a condition is noticed, it may be repaired by replacing the right drive axle inner boot clamp with an "earless" clamp, P/N 7847740. Kent Moore seal clamp pliers #J-35566 must be used to install the new clamp. Refer to Section 4D in the Service Manual for installation procedure.
