The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

You may experience a Service Ride Control message on the Drivers Information Center (DIC) followed by a DTC C0551 after the replacement of the Electronic Suspension Control module (ESC).

Recommendation/Instructions:

The (ESC) Electronic Suspension Control module needs to be SPS programmed before you perform the ALC trim reset procedure that is listed under Special Functions in the Tech 2 Scan Tool. When performing the SPS programming, you may notice that the ESC module is not listed as a available module to program. You will need to select RTD as the module to program to properly program the ESC module.

After the module is properly programmed, the ALC trim reset procedure that is listed under Special Functions on the Tech 2 will need to be performed to relearn the trim height of the vehicle.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
