Caution: Do not attempt to repair or alter the head impact energy-absorbing material glued to the headliner or to the garnish trims. If the material is damaged, replace the headliner and/or the garnish trim. Failure to do so could result in personal injury.

Notice: Use care when working around the head curtain inflator module. Sharp tools may puncture the curtain airbag. If the head curtain inflator module is damaged in any way, it must be replaced.

Notice: If a vehicle is equipped with a head curtain inflator module ensure that the inflator module and tether are undamaged. If tether or curtain airbag are damaged in any way, they must be replaced.

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 700143  Size: SH

    Important: Do not disconnect the headliner wire harness from the junction block.

  1. Lower the front section of the headliner and suitably support. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  3. Remove the rear corner moldings. Refer to Body Rear Corner Garnish Molding Replacement .
  4. Remove the rear upper trim molding. Refer to Rear Upper Garnish Molding Replacement .
  5. Remove the rear coat hook.
  6. Carefully release the headliner from the roof support hook and loop retainers.
  7. Remove the headliner from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the rear section of the headliner to the vehicle.
  2. Secure the headliner to the roof support hook and loop retainers.
  3. Connect the electrical connector.
  4. Install the rear coat hook.
  5. Install the rear upper trim molding. Refer to Rear Upper Garnish Molding Replacement .
  6. Install the rear corner molding. Refer to Body Rear Corner Garnish Molding Replacement .
  7. Install the front section of the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement .
