  1. Inspect the following components:
  2. • Inspect the transmission fluid pan for distortion, cracks, or score marks.
    • Inspect the fluid pan bolts for thread damage.
    • Inspect the transmission pan magnet for cracks and tears.
  3. Install the transmission fluid filter (59) and fluid filters seals (57) into the case (24).

  4. Object Number: 801971  Size: SH
  5. Install the drain plug seal (64) into the fluid pan drain plug (63).
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the fluid pan drain plug (63).
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the fluid pan drain plug to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  9. Install the fluid pan magnet (61) onto the fluid pan (62).
  10. Install the NEW fluid pan gasket (60) onto the fluid pan (62).
  11. Install the fluid pan (62) onto the case.
  12. Install the fluid pan bolts (65) into the case.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the fluid pan bolts to 11 N·m (8 lb ft).
