Cargo Covers and/or Body Cladding Discolored (Chalky) (Apply Coating)

Important: Implementation of this service bulletin requires prior District Service Manager approval.

Some customers may comment that the cargo covers or the body cladding is discolored (chalky).

Apply *GATORBACK Textured Plastic Coatings.

Caution: All personnel should read the Material Safety Data Sheet before using this product.

Important: Make certain the surface is washed clean, and dried before applying. This product will not bond to surfaces that are not cleaned. GATORBACK should not be applied within a 90 day time frame of any prior Armor-dillo application.

1. Wash the vehicle.
2. For Chevrolet models, remove the rear air vents, the rear storage compartment lids and all the black screws surrounding the rear window. The rest of the cladding can stay on the vehicle for painting. The lower cladding can also be taped in place except for the rear bumper cladding, it should be removed for painting.
3. Clean the cladding with Gatorback Textured Plastic Cleaner following the manufacturer's recommendations.
4. Scuff the cladding surface with *3M Scotch-Brite™ Ultra fine Pad Gray 37448 and water.
5. Clean the cladding with Gatorback Textured Plastic Cleaner following the manufacturer's recommendations.
6. Spray Gatorback Textured Plastic Coating following the manufacturer's recommendations.
7. For Chevrolet models, apply Gatorback Coatings Anti Fuel Staining Topcoat on the cladding around the fuel filler door.

As an alternative, you can sublet the repair to Dr. Vinyl if there is a franchise in your area. Assure that no products other than the Gatorback materials specified in this bulletin are used for this repair.
