The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

SERVICE VME

Some customers may comment that their Passenger Side Air Bag (Inflatable Restraint) may be discolored or stained, primarily the dark pewter color cover. The root cause may be the powder material in the cover and its interaction with the environment. This haze or discoloration can be cleaned off by wiping the cover with soap and warm water. It is not necessary to replace the air bag module.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
