Replacement parts distributed and/or marketed as Delphi® are NOT genuine GM service replacement parts. These parts are discussed in the General Motors Service Policies and Procedures Manual as follows:

GM Service Policies and Procedures Article 1.2.d (Article 1.2.4e in Canada)

    • Sale of non-GM parts in warranty repairs
The dealer is to make every effort to obtain genuine GM service replacement parts for the performance of warranty repairs. If such parts are not available through GMSPO, ACDelco® distributors, or other GM dealers, the dealer is to obtain comparable non-GM parts and clearly indicate in detail on the repair order the circumstances surrounding why non-GM parts were used. The dealer will disclose the use of any non-GM parts to the customer and explain the warranty coverage for those parts.
    • Other policies regarding non-GM parts
       - The manufacturer or distributor of a non-GM part is solely responsible for any parts warranty. They are not covered by any GM warranty.
       - The dealer is to provide the owner with a copy of any warranty, if in writing, covering the non-GM part.
       - Reimbursement for a non-GM part will be made at the dealer's actual cost, not to exceed the dealer price of the comparable GM part. The warranty parts handling allowance does not apply to non-GM parts used in warranty repairs (except when use of the non-GM part was at the direction of GM).

Dealer Sales and Service Agreement Article 5.1.1

If the dealer modifies or sells a modified new motor vehicle, or installs any equipment, accessory, recycled part or part not supplied by GM, or sells any non-GM service contract for a motor vehicle, the dealer will disclose this fact on the purchase order and bill of sale, indicating that the modification, equipment, accessory or part is not warranted by GM or, in the case of a service contract, the coverage is not provided by GM or an affiliate.

Again, parts distributed and/or marketed by Delphi® are NOT genuine GM service replacement parts. They are not viewed or treated any differently than any other non-GM part and the preceding articles would apply.
